OR/Mobius provides maximum exposure and wound protection while keeping minimal incisions in mind. Used in a variety of general, OB/GYN, Bariatric and Colorectal surgical applications, OR/Mobius lines the incision to help protect wound edges from contamination. Though there are many clinical uses for OR/Mobius, most recently it has been adopted as an alternative to power morcellation in abdominal hysterectomy and myomectomy procedures.

The OB/Mobius C-section Retractor provides 360° circumferential retraction while the malleable outer ring molds to the patient’s abdomen providing secure, low-profile exposure. Used frequently in the obese patient population due to its sturdy design, OB/Mobius stays in place throughout the procedure and is available in two size options. If preferred, the retractor design also allows for in situ suturing of uterus, in order to potentially reduce postoperative pain and achieve faster recovery times. All Mobius retractors are latex-free.

DEVICE DESCRIPTION

The Mobius^® Elastic Retractor provides 360° of circumferential retraction while lining the wound to protect against contamination. The Mobius Elastic Retractor is comprised of three components:

an open-ended, flexible yet non-compliant (will not stretch) polyurethane sleeve
an internal, flexible O-Ring (blue)
a Quad-Ring (yellow)

The O-Ring and Quad Ring components are made entirely of Ethyl-Vinyl-Acetate (EVA). The polyurethane sleeve is the single component contacting the patient.

Mobius Details

The yellow Quad-Ring is injection-molded from Ethyl-Vinyl-Acetate (EVA) into the form known as the “Mobius” configuration. This configuration creates a torsional force that both assists the physician in the operation of the device and helps to maintain desired wound dilation once installed

INDICATIONS FOR USE

The OR/Mobius Elastic Retractor is indicated for use to assist in laparotomy procedures. It is intended to provide incision retraction and to protect against wound contamination during open surgery.
The OB/Mobius Elastic Retractor is indicated for use to assist in non-urgent cesarean deliveries that are routine procedures. It is intended to provide incision retraction and to protect against wound contamination during a cesarean section. It is indicated for use as a surgical retractor for both vertical and transverse incisions. and helps to maintain desired wound dilation once installed
